Hello:No, this is a book we can do without. We are beyond all hope. Minimal is a four letter word to us. More is more and even more is even better. Perhaps we should write a book?Hope your week is swimmingly along beautifully!
I giggled at this comment - hilarious! And yes, you two should write a book!
HA! I spotted the same book on my shelf the day I did linen closet, silently mocking me for saying, as only he could in that Aussie accent "put another old sheet on the barbie.." He is one tough customer..
Ha! I love it. No mercy with that guy! I'll never forget that episode of Oprah where Peter helped some woman declutter her house and basement and all her crap fit into two empty hall complexes. The tables went on and on and on....
Oooh! I am ruthless when it comes to de-cluttering. I show no mercy; I'll be round ;-) xx
you sound so gleeful! :) he he
I had to do major de-cluttering when i was getting ready to move! It was easiert han I thought, although I ahve to admit I miss some items I diposed of ;(
I have a different book about dealing with clutter. Bill just laughs every time he sees it. I am getting better about 'more out', 'less in'.
Me too - I try to go through stuff as much as I can and give myself the "will I even use this in 6 months?" test. Most times, no. I have to see my stuff, otherwise it just sits there and is forgotten about!
Hilarious! You have clean up and you find the de-clutter book! Yay! My best de cluttering is never going to a big box store and getting the kids to clear out the Mudroom crudroom every week. Not sure how we accumulate so many odd shoes and broken ceramics.
And never finding matching socks!! Like really, where do those socks vanish to?I have found more culprits. CDs and DVDs and burned CDs. Oy. And photos, negatives, photo CDs, etc etc.
Yes I need to hire a student to scan all my old photos and then I can chuck out those negatives
I have removed cluttered like mad at times only to find that I replaced it with more over time.Once left everything behind on a move then found that I missed some things like crazy. You can't win sometimes. But a uncluttered home is a happier home I am sure. Feng Shui and all that.
I am happier with less things, definitely. I did a ruthless purge when we moved to our now-house 4 years ago and have done scores of decluttering since then. It never ends!
p.s. I grew up with clutter in my parents' household so it seems like I'm always trying to fight the clutter!
unmatched socksanonymous extra button/yarn cardsexpired couponsstill finding s**t with shoulder pads from a misspent youth! (oh, so that's where that went...)still finding stuff I was going to fixwhen I celebrated a certain large anniversary, my mom called, and mentioned that she'd been cleaning out the basement and found my unfinished home ec project from 7th grade: a green wool skirt. Did I still want it? It only needed the hem gone over with smaller stitches. No, please, no!life has been a little better since we learned that used books can be donated to local VFW chapters, from whence they are distributed to VA hospitals.
oh those buttons!! I have so many of those. I think I still have the extra buttons from tops I donated years ago!Totally LOL'ing about the unfinished wool skirt. And laughing because my Mom would do the SAME THING!!We donate most of our stuff to Community Living, they are a good organization and they arrange the pickups and everything.
Ha! Best post of the week! I love it and his face! I'm behind in starting the Spring cleaning... Need to get to this! Asap!xxKim
He has such a presence, doesn't he? ha ha
